Back Pain: Chris’s Story

In February 2024 I started to have pins and needles in my right foot, in a matter of weeks this escalated to lower back pain.

I went to the Doctor who prescribed painkillers and told me to try Reformer Pilates. I started Pilates and went twice a week for six months. I found after six month the pain was getting worse.

Numerous visits to the Doctor and different physios, Osteopath, but found no relief and was giving the same old generic exercises from Google. (It was costing me a fortune).

Work as a mechanical fitter was becoming a struggle and I couldn’t hide the pain any more. Work decided to put me on light duties which I hated. I had an injection in my back which unfortunately didn’t work at all. I was at my wits end. I had no sick leave or Annual leave left, and work was getting concerned with me.

I then came across Brian who I realised had a different approach to back pain management. I booked an appointment and went to see Brian, who took one look at me and knew I was in real trouble.

Mentally and physically I was exhausted.

Over a twelve-week period, Brian diagnosed and had me do all different exercises which had purpose and effectiveness. It wasn’t an easy journey by any means but after the twelve weeks I was starting to see light at the end of the tunnel.

Fast forward eight months, I feel really good. I’m back at the gym two/three times a week. I’m on full-time duties at work again. My mental health has improved. I’m basically doing everything I had done before major back pain.

I still use everything I learnt from Brian and if I feel like my back is flaring up, I have the tools to reset then go again.

Thanks Brian. I will never forget my journey with you.
